Mom arrested for tampering with evidence after 14-year-old accused of shooting teen in the head, police say
ALLIANCE, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) - The mother of a 14-year-old boy accused of shooting a 15-year-old girl in the head is charged with tampering with evidence.
Erin Barker, 47, is charged with tampering with evidence. Barker’s bond is set at $25,000.
Police said Barker’s 14-year-old son used her gun to fatally shooting Kennedy Wise, 15, in the head on Friday.
After the shooting, the boy removed the gun from the scene and told his mother that the shooting was a suicide, authorities said.
Police said Barker then returned the gun to the scene and failed to tell officers she had done so.
The boy later admitted he accidently shot Kennedy in the head and it was not a suicide, according to police.
He is currently charged with involuntary manslaughter and being held in a juvenile detention facility.
